What is Time Travel?

Time travel is the concept of moving between different moments in time in a manner analogous to moving between different points in space, either sending objects (or in some cases just information) backwards in time to a moment before the present, or sending objects forward from the present to the future without the need to experience the intervening period (at least not at the normal rate).

Some interpretations of time travel also suggest that an attempt to travel backwards in time might take one to a parallel universe whose history would begin to diverge from the traveller’s original history after the moment the traveller arrived in the past.

Although time travel has been a common plot device in fiction since the 19th century, and one-way travel into the future is arguably possible given the phenomenon of time dilation based on velocity in the theory of special relativity (exemplified by the twin paradox) as well as gravitational time dilation in the theory of general relativity, it is currently unknown whether the laws of physics would allow backwards time travel.

Time travel has not been proven to be impossible or possible. Any technological device, whether fictional or hypothetical, that is used to achieve time travel is commonly known as a time machine.

Singara Chennai!

Dear readers,

Today i had a discussion about the city called "Chennai".
I really found some interesting fact about my own city.

The city was actually "Chennaipattinam".
Which is named after Darmerla Chennappa Nayakkar who was almost like a ruler of the region.

Later when the Brotish ruled India, they called people of this region as 'Mad Rascals' & that is how the name changed from 'Chennaipattinam' to 'Madras'.

It usually was called as "Madraspattinam".

Later it was renamed to "Chennai" by the Govt of Tamil Nadu in 1996.

Here are some pictures of old Chennai (Old Madras).

This is a view of Parry's Corner.
It is named so after a king "Paari" who ruled a portion of that area.
Other assumptions state that the place is named after a company called "E.I.D.Parry" which is located there.

This is a view of High court of Chennai (Old Madras).

This a view of famous railway station on Chennai(Old Madras).

A boating site near Central Railway station.

Since it is my own city I wanted to publish this. :)

Google means what?

Actually the word is not exactly GOOGLE it is GOOGOL.

Googol is the mathematical term for a 1 followed by 100 zeros. The term was formed by Milton Sirotta, nephew of American mathematician Edward Kasner, and was used in the book named “Mathematics and the Imagination” written by Kasner and James Newman.

Google’s play on the term reflects the company’s mission to organize the immense amount of information available on the web.”

Goooooooooo,oooooooooo,oooooooooo,oooooooooo,oooooooooo,
oooooooooo,oooooooooo,oooooooooo,oooooooooo,ooooooooooGle

is indeed derived from Googol

10000000000,0000000000,0000000000,0000000000,0000000000,
0000000000,0000000000,0000000000,0000000000,0000000000.
Yes, that is 100 zeros!

We use Google & its services everyday & i thought we should know the meaning of the word :).

Oldest language known.

Dear readers,

From the history of this earth the oldest language known is "Tamil".
It is a language which is spoken in  "Tamil Naadu", a state in India.

It has about 247 letters which can be derived from 12 vowels & 18 consonants.
Exact origin of this language is not found yet.
But archeologists state that a sculpture found in Tamil Naadu is about 239 years old which is written in 300 BC.

History of this language can be divided into three major periods.

Old Tamil (300 BC to 700 CE).
Middle Tamil (700 to 1600).
Modern Tamil (From 1600).

CE is known as Common Era or "Christian Era".
Which begins when calendering system is started.

This picture states how tamil has gradually developed into today's writing script from ancient script.

Many interesting facts about tamil are about to be posted here.
Keep tracking.

What is a metre?

Historically, the metre was defined by the French Academy of Sciences as the length between two marks on a platinum-iridium bar, which was designed to represent 1/10,000,000 of the distance from the equator to the north pole through Paris. In 1983, it was redefined by the International Bureau of Weights and Measures (BIPM) as the distance travelled by light in free space in 1/299,792,458 of a second.

After all it is a basic unit of length & we all should have some knowledge about it.

Forward to your friends too. :-)
